Trumpets/Flugelhorn/Piccolo Trumpet
« on: December 09, 2009, 02:00:33 PM »
I have a selection of horns for sale! Some of them have been listed before, but several have not. I have all these horns at home in Norway, but I can probably arrange for shipping from within the EU. I will consider trades. Here we go:

1. 1937 New York Bach Stradivarius 7-53: #7 leadpipe, #7 bell, .453" bore. Complete overhaul including valve work and lacquer. Clear, mellow, soft sounding, good for classical/allround playing. €1800.

2. 1937 New York Bach Stradivarius 10-53: Charlie Melk leadpipe (gives it a bigger feel), #10 bell, .453" bore. Complete overhaul by Charlie Melk + local Bach specialist - the valves look like NEW and the horn is bursting with compression! Clear and bright sounding, good for classical/allround but also great for more lead/salsa type things. €2000.

3. 1947 Olds Super: Lightweight but incredibly powerful, dark, full of core. Great jazz/big band horn, but also very effective for church playing etc because it is extremely dynamic. Made in the best Olds period, the Los Angeles period. €800.

4. 1950 Olds Special: The lowest professional Olds model, but described as better than my Yamaha 8310Z by my teacher. Also dark sounding and with a great core, just not as open as the Olds Super. Have used it a lot for jazz. €400.

5. Ca 1950 Besson Brevet้e Flugelhorn: A legend... Very good condition, barely any lacquer wear and only a couple of very small dents, nothing that affects playing at all. Valves are fast and the horn is a very easy player. Has the classical French small bore sound. Compared to some Couesnon's I've had, it is lighter sounding and an easier player. €800.

6. 2002 Amrein Meister Serie Piccolo: A top professional German piccolo trumpet. I have so little experience playing piccolo I cannot say too much about its characteristics unfortunately. It has some wear, but technically it is in great condition with lots of compression. New price: €3400. €1900.

7. 2001 Yamaha YTR-6810S Piccolo: One of the most popular professional piccolo trumpets. Excellent condition both cosmetically and technically, original case. €1100.
